Kelly Smyth Performing Arts Director

Dancing since the age of 4, Kelly comes from a very strong family dance background having trained under her Mother Elizabeth Smyth as well as world class and renowned choreographers, coaches and lecturers, Margaret Redmond(ENG) and Niall Newman(IRL).

Over a competitive career that spanned 17yrs, Kelly has gained numerous titles both nationally and internationally while representing Ireland successfully on an international scale.

Kelly turned her passion to teaching part time while studying Marketing, Advertising and Management 9 years ago. Since, Kelly’s pupils have travelled the world having been invited to proudly represent Ireland in 2 World Championships, 2 European Championships and the European Cup, hosted in countries as far out as Australia, Lithuania, Germany, Spain and Austria to name a few. Kelly’s pupil’s successes at home include winning the All Ireland youth and Amateur Latin Championships and Junior 10 Dance Championships, Republic of Ireland Amateur and Youth Latin & Juvenile Ballroom Championships, Irish Open Championships, Diamond Jubilee Championships and the Republic of Ireland Championships among others.

Having combined both her knowledge of the dance world and business acumen while managing the centre and outreach programme at Dance Theatre of Ireland, Kelly is now delighted to take her experience to the next level as Performing Arts Director making Greystones Studios the premier performing arts facility in Ireland.

Kristina Chaloir & Julian Brigante Argentine Tango

Kristina and Julian created Tango Fiesta in 2008.  In that short time, Tango Fiesta  has established itself as a company of vision and creativity with a myriad  of  achievements in the world of Performance, Choreography and Event Management.

Native of Buenos Aries, Julian was taught exclusively by Tango Maestro and Legend, Mingo Pugliese and became his principal assistant after a mere 2 years of Study.  Julian has taught at many major festivals and Events all around Argentina and Europe and is renowned for his dynamic intensity of movement and his  deep affinity with tango of the Golden Age.

Kristina has masters degrees in Theatre Direction and Choreography and ran her own highly successful Dance Theatre Company in Paris.  She has studied with master teachers, Chicho Frumboli, Carlos Rivarola and Esther and Mingo Pugliese.  Kristina also has music performance and teaching diplomas in three instruments, and a masters in Composition.  She is appreciated for her elegant refinement of movement and her charismatic interpretation of the female role in Tango.

Kristina and Julian teach six days a week at classes all over Dublin.  They run Dublin’s most popular Tango Club once a month and this summer introduced The First International Tango Fiesta to Ireland.  Kristina and Julian are dedicated to sharing the beautiful art of Tango with their students in a joyful, friendly and inclusive environment.

Elaine Lloyd Piano & Voice

Elaine is a pianist, vocalist, composer, songwriter and arranger and is a former student of Alla Crosbie (Pianist with the Russian Ballet). Elaine holds a Dip.Mus and a Dip.Mus(Perf) and is currently continuing her studies in Music. Elaine brings her passion, dedication and experience into the classroom where she continues to encourage each students individual potential.

Teaching at Greystones Studios is a rewarding experience for both me as a teacher and for the student.  I teach students of all ages and abilities and have helped them to discover and develop their individual creativity through music. Musical creativity is encouraged and nurtured in my classroom and every student will gain an understanding of their own potential and a love for music. I am committed to developing a passion for music in all my students and to create an environment where students feel encouraged and supported.

Chris Guilfoyle Guitar

Chris Guilfoyle is one of the rising stars on the Irish jazz scene.  Son of internationally renowned jazz Bassist /Composer Ronan Guilfoyle, he will be finishing his BA in Jazz performance in 2010.  Chris has performed in a variety of venues in Dublin such as Whelans and the National Concert Hall, as well as playing along side world famous saxophone player Dave Liebman.  He has also attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston after getting a scholarship from Fender Guitars and attended the Jazz and Improvised Music Summit in Salzburg Austria.  He is also a founding member of the Newpark Jazz Collective.
